This particular variety goes through dramatic seasonal change of colours, that you have to check the labels to be convinced that it's the same plant! Spring the leaves have a striking flash of pink to the edge, whilst in the middle of summer it almost looks like a schwarzkopf it is so dark and the variegation is barely noticeable until it comes out of dormancy in the autumn and puts on a splendid variegated flash of colours.
